Average score below 70%? Your lesson didn’t work or the questions were too hard. Either way, you need to address it.
Average score above 90%? Content was too easy or students already knew it. Consider moving faster or increasing difficulty.
Low completion rate? Students quit mid-game. The game was too long, too hard, or too boring. Adjust for next time.
I glance at overview stats first thing every time. Tell me immediately whether the game session was successful or a disaster.
Understanding the Student Roster View
Below the overview you see individual student names with their scores. This is your roster view.
Scan down the list. Look for patterns. Look for outliers.
A student who always participates scored zero? They probably had tech issues or weren’t actually playing. Follow up individually.
A struggling student scored perfectly? Either they finally got it or something fishy happened. Check the question-by-question data to verify.
Three students have identical scores including identical wrong answers? They probably worked together. Your call whether that’s collaboration or cheating.
I sort this roster by score. Lowest to highest. Bottom performers jump out immediately. Top performers become visible. Middle students doing okay get less attention unless they show unusual patterns.
Reading Question-by-Question Data
Click on any student’s name. Their detailed report expands showing every question they answered.
Each row is one question. You see:
- The question text
- Their answer
- The correct answer
- Whether they got it right or wrong
- How long they took
This is where teaching insights live. This is gold.
Does the student consistently miss questions about one specific concept? That’s their gap. Not “they’re bad at science.” They specifically struggle with cell division while getting everything else right.
Target your intervention. “Hey Sarah, let’s spend 10 minutes on cell division. I noticed that’s tripping you up.”
Way more effective than generic “study harder” advice.
Analyzing Time Spent Per Question
Time data reveals student thinking processes.
Answered in 2 seconds? They guessed. Didn’t read the question. Or they knew it instantly.
Took 90 seconds on a simple question? They struggled. Reread multiple times. Weren’t sure.
Consistent 5-second response time across all questions? They found a rhythm. Good focus. Or they’re clicking randomly at steady intervals.
Compare time spent with accuracy. Fast and accurate? Students know the material. Slow and accurate? Students are careful and thorough. Fast and wrong? The student is guessing. Slow and wrong? The student is confused.
I flag students who rush through everything getting the most wrong. They need a conversation about slowing down and reading carefully.
Identifying Most Missed Questions
Reports usually highlight which questions the whole class struggled with. Look for questions where 60%+ of students answered incorrectly.
This isn’t a student problem. This is a teaching problem.
Either you didn’t explain that concept clearly or the question itself is confusing or there’s an error in the answer key.
Pull up that question. Review it. Figure out what went wrong.
Then reteach that specific concept tomorrow. “Yesterday a lot of us struggled with question 7 about photosynthesis. Let’s review that together.”
Direct. Data-driven. Addresses the actual problem instead of moving forward pretending everyone got it.

Reading Wrong Answer Patterns
Don’t just look at what students got wrong. Look at what they chose instead.
Question asks: “What’s 7 x 8?” The correct answer is 56. But 80% of wrong answers chose 54.
That’s not random guessing. Students are making a specific error. Probably confusing it with 6 x 9.
Address the confusion directly. “I noticed many of us chose 54 instead of 56. Let’s talk about why those numbers are close but different.”
If wrong answers are scattered randomly across all choices, students are genuinely confused about the concept. If wrong answers cluster around one specific choice, they’re making a predictable mistake you can correct.
Comparing Individual to Class Performance
Pull up one student’s report. Compare their results to the class average shown in the overview.
Students scored 45% when the class average was 82%? They’re significantly behind. Need intervention.
Students scored 95% when the class average was 60%? They’re ahead of peers. Consider enrichment or acceleration.
Students scored 78% matching class average of 75%? They’re right where everyone else is. Typical performance for this lesson.
Context matters. A 70% score sounds bad until you realize the class average was 65% and the material was genuinely difficult.
I use class average as my benchmark for whether an individual score is concerning or not.
Reading Homework Reports Differently
Homework reports include data that live games don’t have. Time stamps. Multiple attempts. Off-campus completion.
Time stamp shows 2am? Student has poor time management or serious procrastination issues. Worth a conversation about study habits.
Multiple attempts showing improvement from 60% to 90%? Students used homework as actual learning. That’s the goal. Celebrate this.
Three attempts all showing the same wrong answers? Students didn’t learn from mistakes. They just clicked faster on each retry.
Homework reports reveal work habits in addition to content knowledge. Both are valuable for understanding each student.
Understanding Participation Gaps
The report shows 25 students in your class but only 18 played the game. Seven missing.
Look at who’s missing. Same students every time? Chronic absentees? Tech access issues? Deliberate avoidance?
Different problems need different solutions.
Chronic absentees need attendance intervention. Students without devices need alternative assignments. Students avoiding participation need motivation strategies.
I track participation patterns across multiple reports. Student misses three Blooket sessions in a row? Red flag. Time for a check-in conversation.
Color Coding and Visual Indicators
Most Blooket reports use color coding to help you scan quickly.
Green: Correct answers. High scores. Good performance.
Red: Wrong answers. Low scores. Problem areas.
Yellow/Orange: Medium performance. Borderline. Worth watching.
Use these visual cues to scan reports fast. Look for red clusters. That’s where problems hide.
Don’t need to read every single data point. Let the colors guide your attention to what matters most.
Comparing Multiple Game Sessions
Pull up reports from different games on the same content. Compare student performance across time.
Did scores improve from the first game to the second game after you retaught the concept? Your intervention worked.
Did scores stay flat or drop? Your reteaching approach didn’t work. Try something different.
I compare Monday’s game to Friday’s game every week. Shows me whether students learned anything across those five days or whether we just spun our wheels.
Reading Team Game Reports
Battle Royale and Tower Defense create team-based reports showing both individual and collective performance.
You see individual question data plus team outcomes. Who contributed to team success. Who dragged the team down.
Use this to identify students who understand content but struggle to contribute under pressure. Or students who thrive in collaborative settings.
Some students perform better individually. Others shine in team contexts. Reports show you these patterns if you look for them.
Spotting Suspicious Patterns
Data sometimes reveals cheating or unusual circumstances worth investigating.
Perfect score with 3-second response times across all questions? Either a genius or they had the answer key.
Two students with identical wrong answers in the same unusual pattern? They worked together or one copied the other.
Student score massively higher on homework than any live game? Maybe they got help at home. Maybe my parents did the homework. Maybe they finally figured it out.
Don’t immediately accuse. But do follow up with questions. “Tell me about your thoughts on question 8.” If they can’t explain their reasoning, the score isn’t legitimate.
Using Reports for Grading Decisions
Reports give you objective grading data. No subjectivity. No arguing.
Student claims they got it right? Pull up the report. Show them what they actually clicked.
Parents question the grade? Share the report data. Here’s what they answered. Here’s how they scored. Numbers don’t lie.
